US President Donald Trump’s election campaign events ahead of the upcoming presidential election on November 3 will now be held virtually or will be postponed, his campaign manager Bill Stepien said on Friday, as per AFP report.

Trump’s campaign manager Bill Stepien said, “All previously announced campaign events involving the president’s participation are in the process of being moved to virtual events or are being temporarily postponed.”

Similarly, all events involving the First Lady Melania Trump, who also tested positive for COVID-19, have been postponed, Stepien stated.

Earlier on Friday, US President Donald Trump and First Lady Melania Trump tested positive for coronavirus.

The US President tweeted the news of his testing positive for coronavirus on Friday.

President Donald Trump’s chief of staff on Friday had said that president was experiencing “mild symptoms” of COVID-19.

The White House said it was carrying out contact tracing, while Melania Trump’s spokeswoman said the couple’s 14-year-old son Barron had tested negative.

Vice President Mike Pence, Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin and Secretary of State Mike Pompeo all let it be known they had tested negative, and the White House said Supreme Court nominee Amy Coney Barrett had also been given the all-clear. While Republican Party chairwoman Ronna McDaniel, who was last with Trump on September 25, tested positive earlier this week, according to US media reports.

Democratic Presidential candidate Joe Biden who shared a stage with Donald Trump on Tuesday at Clevland wished President Trump and First Lady Melania Trump a swift recovery. “We will continue to pray for the health and safety of the president and his family,” Biden wrote on Twitter.
