One of the military bases in Washington, the Joint Base Anacostia-Bolling, has been reopened after being placed on lockdown due to an armed person spotted on the base.

The all-clear announcement came more than two hours after Joint the base alerted the citizens through its Facebook page that the individual, initially described as a Black man with a medium-build carrying a Gucci bag, was on base.

According to the latest update, the suspect was detained by security forces at the base and would be transferred to the Metropolitan Police Department, CNBC report sid.

The base had posted a note on its Facebook page earlier on Friday that said that the base was being placed on lockdown. According to the notice, the alleged armed person was spotted on the south side of the base.

“If you encounter the individual and have a safe route, RUN. If you do not have a safe route to run, HIDE. Barricade your door, turn off the lights and your cell phone ringer, and remain silent,” the post said. “If you are hiding, prepare to FIGHT.”

The Facebook notice said the “description of the individual” being sought “is a black male with a medium build carrying a Gucci Bag.” The base said officials had information that the ”individual is believed to be armed.”

The base later said in an updated post that authorities were looking for two people: “One individual is a black male, medium build with dreads wearing ripped blue jeans and with dreads. The second individual is a black male wearing green pants and a white top. He may be injured.”

Another update from the base then said that there was one person who is black and medium build with dreadlocks.

“Do not go looking for the individual. If you see this person, please call JBAB Security Forces at 202-767-5000. Continue to lockdown,” the post warned.

According to Washington’s Metropolitan Police Department, officers responded to a report of firing near the base when the suspects ran towards the establishment. So far, no reports of any shooting victims have emerged.

The 905-acre base in southeast Washington houses Air Force, Marine Corps, and Coast Guard units, along with the Washington field office of the Naval Criminal Investigative Service and the headquarters of the Defense Intelligence Agency.
