On Tuesday night, Tucker Carlson claimed that Donald Trump was indicted because he dared to criticize the American military industrial complex and raise concerns about America’s involvement in foreign conflicts.

He claimed that the elite in Washington, D.C., chose to “take Trump out” because he opposed taking part in foreign conflicts, and he accused the intelligence establishment of fabricating evidence that Iraq had WMDs.

‘It’s been inevitable since February 16, 2016,’ said Carlson, referencing a Republican primary debate held in Greenville, South Carolina.

‘That’s the day Donald Trump made a blood enemy of the largest and most powerful organization in human history, which would be the federal Government.’

Carlson said Trump was ‘doomed’ when he condemned the Iraq invasion, and told the South Carolina audience: ‘They lied. They knew there were no weapons of mass destruction.’

Carlson added: ‘Seven and a half years later, we can point to the precise moment that permanent Washington decided to send Donald Trump to prison.’

In the third episode of his social media news show, Tucker On Twitter, which has taken the place of his primetime program, the former Fox News host made the assertions.

Fox fired Carlson in April, and the network is now pursuing legal action to block him from making broadcasts on Twitter. Fox maintains that he is not permitted to host a show until his contract expires in 2025.

Carlson, however, is free to air his show because, according to his legal counsel, Fox officials broke the terms of his contract.

He asserted on Tuesday night that Trump’s indictment was a result of his foreign policy and opposition to global engagement.

‘Most of permanent Washington decided that thwarting Trump was the single most important mission in their lives,’ he said.
