Lori Vallow Daybell was found guilty on all counts of killing her two children and conspiring in the murder of her husband’s former wife Tamara Daybell. She faces up to life in prison without parole when sentenced.

A jury of seven men and five women deliberated for almost four hours on Thursday and two hours on Friday before reaching its verdict. Daybell showed no visible reaction as the verdicts were announced.

Vallow Daybell will be shifted from Ada County to Fremont County for further proceedings and sentencing. According to Judge Steven Boyce, sentencing will take place in around three months.

Lori Vallow Daybell and her husband, Chad Daybell, were both charged with two counts of first-degree murder for the 2019 murders of her children, Joshua JJ Vallow and Tylee Ryan. The bodies were found on an Idaho property belonging to Chad Daybell following a monthslong search operation. Joshua was 7 years old and Tylee was 16.

The two were indicted on murder charges almost a year after authorities discovered the remains of her children on Chad Daybell’s property in June 2020.

The verdict was read before a packed Boise courtroom and was live streamed by the court.

According to a May 2021 indictment, Vallow Daybell had charges of grand theft on suspicion of changing bank accounts to collect Social Security benefits for her children after their deaths. She did not report her children missing to keep receiving the money, reported East Idaho News.

Chad Daybell will be tried separately. He pleaded not guilty to his charges. His ex-wife Tammy Daybell died in her sleep in October 2019. Weeks later, he married Lori Vallow Daybell.

Chad Daybell is charged with two felony counts of conspiracy to commit destruction, altercation or concealment of evidence and two felony counts of destruction, altercation or concealment of evidence. Chad is Lori’s fifth husband. He is the author of several religious fiction books.
