A violent fight between two 16-year-old boys resulted in the loss of one young life, while the other, Christopher Track, who is now 17, faced adult charges.

Christopher Track and Prince Nedd had been employed at a McDonald’s in March 2022. Track openly admitted that, following a dispute, he shot Nedd. The incident ultimately led to the loss of Nedd’s life.

Superior Court Judge Suzanne Cohen delivered the sentencing for Track on Friday. Her decision took into account Track’s past and his actions, all of which unfolded in the presence of both his and Nedd’s grieving families.

Who is Christopher Track?

Christopher Track is 17 years old. In a June court hearing at Maricopa County Superior Court, Christopher Track pleaded guilty to the second-degree murder of 16-year-old Prince Nedd and was subsequently sentenced to 12 years in prison for his involvement in the incident.

Under Arizona law, there is a provision that mandates individuals aged 15 years or older to be tried as adults if they are charged with specific felony crimes, which was the point in Track’s case.

According to court records, Track and Nedd got into a fight on March 2, 2022, at a McDonald’s restaurant close to 51st Avenue and Baseline Road in Phoenix. The argument started over a food order in the restaurant’s restroom at first.

Nedd won the physical fight, according to a report the state filed with the court, and then proceeded to taunt Track about it while filming it on his phone. Nedd left the restaurant after this altercation.

Track’s response changed tragically, though. He got a gun and went after Nedd, shooting him in the back while he was still inside the McDonald’s. Track carried out this deed and then ran away.

However, after five days, Track walked into the police precinct and surrendered himself to the law enforcement officers.
