The Midtown Atlanta active shooter suspect has been identified as 24-year-old Deion Patterson. He shot and killed 1 person and injured multiple people at the Northside Medical Building in Atlanta.

Police are urging anyone with information to call 911 as the shooting suspect is still at large. Police are still searching for the suspect and have warned those in the area that he is likely going to be armed and dangerous.

Who is Deion Patterson?

Not much information was released about the suspect. A video circulating on social media suggested that Patterson was spotted on top of a building. According to unconfirmed reports, the suspect’s mother was allegedly at the location where the shooting happened for an appointment today.

At 12:42 p.m., Atlanta police tweeted: “We are working an active shooter situation inside a building on West. Peachtree St, between 12th St and 13th St. We are aware of multiple people injured. No suspect is in custody. Anyone in the area is asked to secure their building and shelter in place. Anyone not in the area is asked to stay away. We will communicate via social media and our website with updates.”

A vehicle was reportedly carjacked moments after there were reports of shots fired at the Northside Medical building in Atlanta. The vehicle was found in Cobb County. Police working to see if Patterson was the person who stole the vehicle.

Police initially released four images of a suspect on social media. The alleged shooter was seen pointing what appears to be a handgun inside a set of glass doors, wearing a gray or black hoodie, and carrying a bag.
