Joe Kennedy is a person of interest in the case of murder-mutilation of four men. He has been taken into custody in Volusia County, Florida. The bodies of the four victims in the case were found shot and in a dismembered condition. 

Mark Chastain, 32; Billy Chastain, 30; Mike Sparks, 32; and Alex Stevens, 29 are the victims. Their family members had reported them missing in the time between Monday night and early Tuesday. The men were together at Chastain’s house before leaving on bicycles at around 9 PM on October 9.

Who is Joe Kennedy?

Joe Kennedy, 67, is a person of interest in the case of murder-mutilation of four individuals. However, he has been taken into custody in an unrelated charge after being arrested in Daytona Beach Shores.

The Okmulgee Police Department released a statement after his arrest, saying, “The District Attorney and the Sheriff will begin the process of getting Kennedy back to Okmulgee County. The murder investigation is ongoing and investigators continue to follow leads every day”.

On Monday, Kennedy was in a vehicle that was reported stolen when the police arrested him. The Volusia County inmate record states that he has been arrested for the grand theft of a motor vehicle that is without a bond.

According to Okmulgee Police Chief, Joe Prentice, the four murdered individuals had all suffered gunshot wounds and were planning to commit a crime when they stepped out on their bicycles.

Besides Kennedy, the police have said that there is another person of interest in the case who is missing. The person, who has denied any knowledge of these four men, is a “person of interest that we’d like to talk to”, Prentice said.

However, the police said that said person has been missing since Saturday and chances are that he might be suicidal.
