Lawyers for former President Donald Trump, which includes John Lauro, met with prosecutors at special counsel Jack Smith’s office on Thursday to discuss about a looming third indictment.

Trump attorneys John Lauro and Todd Blanche met with Smith’s team on Thursday. According to CNN, jurors and a Smith prosecutor were seen entering the courthouse. However, the meeting reportedly concluded without the former POTUS’ team getting any hints about timing of a possible third indictment.

According to Axios, such meetings are opportunity for defense lawyers to make their last case against potential charges that their client might be facing. Earlier this month, Trump received a target letter from Smith indicating, after which had argued against a meeting between his attorneys and Smith’s team. The 45th president’s believed that the meeting was a waste of everyone’s time because the indictment was already a done deal.
