A suspect was found last week in Mississippi in connection to the murder of a woman at a motel in the Sharpstown region.

The man has been identified as Joshua Zimmerman. He was arrested for the murder of Keyanna Mercer. On September 2, at approximately 8:45 p.m., she sadly perished in a motel off the Southwest Freeway, between Bellaire Boulevard and Hillcroft Avenue, at the hands of Zimmerman’s gunshots. Mercer was discovered with at least one gunshot wound inside a motel room. When responding paramedics arrived, they declared her dead.

Who is Joshua Zimmerman?

Joshua Zimmerman is 30 years old. He was arrested by Southaven Police Department officers on an unrelated felony charge. 

Keyanna Mercer, age 23, was fatally shot by Zimmerman on September 2 at approximately 8:45 p.m. in a motel off the Southwest Freeway, between Bellaire Boulevard and Hillcroft Avenue. Mercer was found inside a motel room with at least one gunshot wound, and paramedics at the scene pronounced him dead. Further investigation found that Zimmerman and Mercer had both hired the space.

Witnesses claim they heard screaming coming from the room and then a gunshot. After the event, Zimmerman promptly checked out of the motel. In the days that followed, despite the fact that Zimmerman was still at large, authorities unveiled a photo of him and charged him with murder.

Vincent Guerino Juliano, also known as Zimmerman, was arrested last Friday and lodged at the DeSoto County Jail in Hernando, Mississippi. He will eventually be returned to Harris County.

Police discovered during their inquiry that Zimmerman and Mercer had rented the room.

As per media reports, witnesses reported hearing screaming coming from the room before the gunfire, which they reported to the police. Shortly after the incident, Zimmerman was spotted exiting the hotel.
