Kirk Franklin is an American choir director, songwriter, gospel singer and author. The singer is best known for contemporary gospel choirs such as God’s Property, The Family and One Nation Crew amongst others. Kirk has won a lot of awards in his career including 16 Grammy awards.

The 51-year-old singer has been doing rounds on social media after a video got released by his elder son Kerrion Franklin on Instagram, in which Kirk is heard cussing Kerrion. The son who has been estranged from the family for years now, released a very heated argument between his father and him.

In the video put by Kerrion on Instagram, Kirk is heard cursing, “I’ll put my foot in your a**” to which Kerrion replied, “I dare you.” And they carry on the riff. Kirk dares Kerrion to disrespect him, and the video is being talked about a lot on social media.

Kirk took to his Twitter account and gave out a statement where he said that only one side of the story was told through the recording and Kerrion didn’t add in his post what he said on the call to him.

The singer has been called as “Reigning King of Urban Gospel” by Variety. Kirk has received many awards that include Grammys, Dove Awards, BET Awards, GMA, Soul Train Awards and Stellar Awards.  He also got big awards such as Male Vocalist of the Year, Album of the Year, Producer of the Year awards that stand him out in his music career.
