Madeline Cuomo has been charged with conspiring to organize a campaign to discredit the women who have accused former New York governor Andrew Cuomo of sexual misconduct.

Who is Madeline Cuomo?

Madeline Cuomo is the sister of Andrew Cuomo, the ex-Governor of New York who is accused of sexual misconduct. She was born in 1964 and is currently 58 years old.

Madeline is the daughter of Matilda Cuomo and Mario Cuomo, who was also the governor of New York. She is an attorney by profession and has specialized in matrimonial law. She is a graduate of Albany Law School.

Madeline has now been charged with planning an attack to defame the women whose complaints of sexual harassment ended her brother’s career. She sent numerous messages to a group of mostly older women who supported her brother. According to the story published by the New York Times on Monday, she encouraged them to distribute “bimbo photos” of the “unsophisticated girls” who made harassment allegations against her brother.

Although it is unknown if Andrew Cuomo was aware of the plan. However, Madeline Cuomo made multiple references to her brother, the governor at the time, in various messages. “I just hung up with A again and he wants you both to know how much he appreciates ALL your hard work and willingness to get this out today on LABOR DAY of all days!!!!” one message said.

The allegations, reportedly, are based on 4,000 emails, texts, and voice notes between the younger sister of the former governor and We Decide New York, a pro-Cuomo organization in upstate New York.

Cuomo resigned in August 2021 after being accused of sexual harassment by numerous women. He was allegedly found to have sexually harassed almost a dozen women, including current and former government employees, with inappropriate comments and touching. Additionally, it is claimed that Cuomo and his staff improperly retaliated against at least one of his accusers after she made her accusations public.

Madeline Cuomo confessed in a statement to the Times that she was involved with We Deliver and said she was determined to “protect her family”. She also claimed that her brother wasn’t involved in all of this. “I acted on my own with the women of WDNY without his involvement in any way,” she said. “Unfortunately, due to internal dissension, the group fractured and I haven’t worked with the group since.”
