On Wednesday afternoon, the child Malakai Blake Greene was the focus of an Amber Alert from the Rutherford County Sheriff’s Office.
When a law enforcement body believes that a kid has been kidnapped and is in immediate danger, they issue an Amber Alert. The “AMBER” stands for “America’s Missing: Broadcast Emergency Response.”
This initiative was in response to the 1996 kidnapping and murder of 9-year-old Amber Hagerman in Arlington, Texas.
Who is Malakai Blake Greene?
Malakai Blake Greene is a 3-year-old boy who was missing. He measures 3 feet tall and is 45 pounds. The boy has hazel eyes and blonde hair. On the left side of his face, he has a scar on the top lip, and the front of his right ear has a skin tag.
Malakai was reported to be with his 25-year-old mother, Alyssa Greene. She is a white woman with red hair and green eyes who is 5’5″ tall and weighs around 220 pounds.
The two were last spotted driving a grey 2012 Dodge Journey with the North Carolina license plate KAW7288 in Union Mills. They could have been traveling to Charlotte.
The Rutherford County Sheriff’s Office said that the toddler had been found safe one hour after the Amber Alert had been issued on Wednesday.
A spokeswoman for the sheriff’s office merely confirmed that Malakai was unharmed and withheld information about the location of the duo’s discovery or if Alyssa Greene, the biological mother, would now face legal action.
In a similar situation yesterday, the Virginia State Police and the Virginia Missing Children Clearinghouse allegedly reported two children missing and responded by issuing an AMBER Alert.
Ragan Crowder, 6, and Riley Crowder, 6, were thought to be in serious danger and had been last seen in Stafford on Courthouse Road, according to authorities.
Rosa Gregg, the alleged kidnapper, has now been detained after the kids were recovered safely.
