The New York Police Department said on Friday that they had captured a Yonkers resident accused of sexually abusing an 8-year-old girl at a Manhattan school for over a year.

Manhattan Child Abuse Squad investigators nabbed Miles McNeal, 25, on Thursday for allegedly causing the toddler great distress over an 11-month period, according to law enforcement officials and prosecutors.

Prosecutors believe McNeal began his abuse of the girl on September 8, 2022, at a school on W. 112th St. in Harlem, when he sexually assaulted her and took obscene images.

According to prosecutors, McNeal continued to assault the child at school until August 18, 2023. During this time, he repeatedly assaulted the girl, took intimate photographs of her, and exposed her to pornographic images of other unclothed juveniles.

McNeal was legally charged with many sexual abuse and child pornography-related offenses, including possessing explicit sexual material involving a young, promoting explicit sexual material involving a minor, and participating in severe sexual misconduct.
