Who is Miles Pfeffer?

On February 18, the 31-year-old officer was patrolling the 1700 block of Montgomery Avenue when he observed three people dressed in dark clothes with masks. When he attempted to make contact with them, the trio fled the scene on foot. While two of the males hid, 18-year-old Miles Pfeffer continued to run. The officer then asked Pfeffer to get to the ground, resulting in a struggle. Pfeffer pulled out a handgun and shot the officer at least four times before fleeing the scene.

Pfeffer was taken into custody the following day from his family home in Buckingham Twp., Bucks County. He was charged with Murder, Homicide of Law Enforcement Officer, Evading Arrest and related charges. The weapon used in the incident has not been recovered.

According to the court documents, the suspect’s mother allegedly picked him up at 29th Street and Ridge Avenue and drove him back to their home. However, it is not clear if the woman knew what had occurred before she picked her son up.
