Pejhmaun Iraj Khosroabadi has been taken into custody on Tuesday in connection with the shooting of a California Highway Patrol officer in Studio City.

Around 7.55 pm on Monday, an officer pulled over a white Ford sedan near the intersection of Laurel Canyon Boulevard and Landale Street as part of a routine traffic stop. The suspect got out of the vehicle and got into a physical altercation with the officer before pulling out a gun and shooting him multiple times. He then fled the scene.

Authorities initially thought the suspect had barricaded himself in an apartment complex. They entered the unit and only found his roommate inside.
