Youtuber Ruby Franke, known from the “8 Passengers” channel, was arrested on Wednesday. The arrest followed an incident where an extremely malnourished child with duct tape on their limbs managed to escape and seek help at a neighbor’s house.

Who is Ruby Franke?

Ruby Franke is a Utah-based YouTuber and mother of six children. She became well-known and has a 2.5 million subscriber-strong famous vlogging channel, “8 Passengers,” which she started. Ruby, her husband Kevin Franke, and their six children, Shari, Chad, Abby, Julie, Russell, and Eve, were the main subjects of the channel’s coverage.

However, during the last three years, the family has encountered numerous difficulties and been the subject of rumors and accusations, which has negatively impacted their reputation.

She was arrested after the child ran away from her business partner Jodi Hildebrandt’s house in Ivins, Utah. The child went to a neighbor’s house and asked for food and water. The neighbor saw the tape on the child’s ankles and wrists, got worried, and called the police.

Local authorities in a statement said, “The calling party stated the juvenile appeared to be emaciated and malnourished, with open wounds and duct tape around the extremities.”

The child, whose name is unknown, was determined by the police at the scene to have extensive wounds, to have been mistreated, and to be malnourished. The boy had significant scratches from being tied up with a rope, so they transported him to the neighboring Saint George Regional Hospital, according to the police.

They quickly located another starving child and rushed them to the hospital.

According to the investigation, Ruby Franke, who is well-known for her family’s YouTube channel, had just a few days prior to the event filmed a video in Jodi Hildebrandt’s home. This implies that the vlogger was aware of the maltreatment, neglect, and undernutrition.
