Shaunice Aviles, a 30-year-old woman, was arrested on Monday at 3:30 am in New York City for breaking into Robert Di Niro‘s Upper East Side house on East 65th Street.
According to reports, she entered Di Niro’s house unlawfully and tried to steal presents from beneath the Christmas tree. The 79-year-old actor was asleep at the time, but the resulting commotion reportedly woke him up.

Who is Saunice Aviles?
Shaunice Aviles is a 30-year-old New York City resident. She has been described as a serial burglar and has been arrested by NYPD 26 times before.
In fact, she was being followed by NYPD officers on Monday night and the officers saw her entering Di Niro’s house. They followed her inside and found that she was attempting to steal presents from the Christmas tree.

They found her trying to snatch the gifts from the tree and put them in a bag she was carrying. According to ABC 7, the police said that the woman was using the actor’s iPad.
The officers were not aware that it was Robert Di Niro’s house when they entered it following Aviles.
The actor was woken up by the resulting commotion and came downstairs in a bathrobe to attend to the situation.
It is also not yet clear if Alives knew that the house was Di Niro’s.
The actor has not commented on the incident yet. The reports state that he was with is daughter when the incident happened.
