Steve Robbins, a Philadelphia man, was involved in a stand-off with the police that lasted for several hours in an incident of attempted “suicide by cop” and has now been charged in a separate incident of molesting a 9-year-old relative.

Who is Steve Robbins?

Steve Robbins, a 38-year-old man from Philadelphia, has been charged with several offenses, including unlawful contact with a minor, indecent assault, endangering the welfare of children, corruption of minors, and indecent exposure, as reported by Fox Philadelphia.

Robbins was originally charged with assaulting a law enforcement officer, aggravated assault, reckless endangerment, and other related charges stemming from the incident that happened just a few days ago.

According to Fox News, authorities received a call about a person with a gun on Sunday. On responding to the incident, they were fired at by Smith which led them to flee the site and alert SWAT teams to come and respond to Robbins.

SWAT members did not have it easy, however, as they had to engage with the 65-year-old in a standoff that lasted for over 14 hours. Ultimately, they were able to go inside the building and get hold of Robbins.

The arrest, however, came at a cost as Robbins confronted SWAT officers with his gun and as they were moving to the third floor, two of them were shot at by the 65-year-old. The police said that the bullets hit the officer’s ballistic vest and as a result, there were no serious injuries. They were briefly taken to a hospital and were released within a few hours after treatment.
