Four students have been charged in a New Jersey school hallway attack on a classmate, Andriana Kuch, who killed herself days later, said prosecutors.

One student was charged with aggravated assault, another with harassment, and two others with conspiracy to commit aggravated assault, Ocean County Prosecutor Bradley D Billhimer said in a statement on Friday. The names of the students have not been released.

Who was Adriana Kuch?

Adriana Kuch was found dead in her Bayville home on February 3. She was 14 years old. Kuch was a student at Central Regional High School. The four students involved in the assault have been suspended, said Central Regional School District Superintendent Triantafillos Parlapanides.

Her father Michael Kuch wrote on Facebook that several students attacked his daughter while walking with her boyfriend in the hallway. He wrote that a video of the fight was posted online and Andriana, a freshman, had been tagged in it. He believes the video was posted to “make fun of her online.”

The disturbing video shows Andriana and her boyfriend walking down the hallway of the school when a student walks up and starts walloping her in the face with a water bottle. Andriana falls to the ground, where she is repeatedly kicked and punched by a group of students. The student who recorded the video can be heard cheering.

Around 30 seconds into the attack, two school workers interrupted the ambush.

Following the attack, Andriana sustained serious bruising on her legs and face. Her father took his daughter to the local police station to file a report about the incident.

Andriana reportedly faced months of bullying from classmates at her school.

Despite reaching out to school authorities, Michael said that “no action was taken by anyone,” following the incident. Just two days later, family members found Adriana dead in her New Jersey home.

Michael is taking legal action against the school and said that his daughter would be alive if the school and police had taken immediate action.
