A young mother of three was fatally murdered in a shooting in Auburn Gresham on Wednesday. Her 2-year-old son was also hurt in the tragic incident, and he is currently recovering from surgery.
The victim who was shot dead has been identified as Anna Foster in the GoFundMe page set up by Barbara Love, the child’s godparent, as reported by NBC.

The child’s godparent has started a GoFundMe campaign in reaction to this tragic event to seek money for the medical care and assistance the survivor child and family will need during this trying time.
Who was Anna Foster?
As per media reports, Anna Foster was 23 years old. She was the mother of three children.
According to Brian McDermott, chief of patrol for the Chicago Police Department, the unfortunate occurrence happened on Wednesday around 3:15 p.m. on the 1200 block of West 81st Street. The victim, a 23-year-old woman, was accompanied by her 2-year-old son, the boy’s father, and another guy as they stood on the sidewalk. A black car pulled up at that precise moment, and several attackers stepped out. They fired shots at the group without giving any prior notice, killing the young mother. The attack also injured the 2-year-old boy.
The young mother was immediately taken to Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn for treatment after being shot many times. Authorities have since verified that she tragically died at the hospital after succumbing to her wounds.
The young youngster, age 2, had a gunshot wound to his foot. It was determined that his condition was stable and not life-threatening. He was sent to Comer Children’s Hospital for proper treatment and medical care.

In the ongoing investigation, detectives were able to recover the vehicle that was used in the shooting. However, as of now, no arrests have been made in the case.
