A fifth person named Deanne Eckert was killed as a shooter opened fire at a Louisville bank in a psychotic rampage that was livestreamed.

Connor Sturgeon, 25, was armed with a rifle when he invaded Old National Bank in Kentucky on Monday and killed four employees, according to police.

Who was Deana Eckert?

Deana Eckert, born in 1965, was an executive administrative officer at Old National Bank in Louisville, where she had worked for the previous six years.

Eckert was killed in the Louisville shooting that took place on April 10, 2023. She died in the hospital more than 12 hours after the gunman, Connor Sturgeon, 25, opened fire on Old National Bank.

Police named the four other people who were shot as Tommy Elliott, age 63, Jim Tutt, age 64, Joshua Barrick, age 40, and Juliana Farmer, age 45.

The bank, which was closed when Sturgeon barged in and started shooting in a conference room at around 8:30 a.m., employed all four as well.

Andy Beshear, the governor of Kentucky, considered Elliott a close friend and senior vice president. Market executive Tutt, additional senior vice president Barrick, and commercial loan expert Farmer were also present.

Eight people were hurt in the incident, including two police officers, in addition to the five people who died. Nicholas Wilt, a rookie police officer, 26, was shot in the head as he hurried to the scene. On Monday afternoon, his condition was still critical.

After engaging in gunfire with the cops, Sturgeon passed away there and then.

Despite cops saying that the gunman worked at the bank, a motive behind the attack was not officially confirmed as of late Monday night.

Federal and local police searched his home, located about five miles from where the shooting took place, and removed bags of evidence.
