Lowell Grissom Jr., known as Everybody Knows Lo or Young Lo, was shot dead in a Miami Beach nightclub, leaving the hip-hop community mourning another tragic loss.

On May 7, 2023, the hip-hop community was struck with yet another tragedy as news broke of the death of Lowell Grissom Jr., popularly known as Everybody Knows Lo or Young Lo, who was killed in a shooting incident at a Miami Beach nightclub.

Who was Lowell Grissom Jr.?

Grissom, a native of Pasadena, California, was a rising star in the music industry who had gained recognition for his unique style of rap and talent as a music producer. He was also a talent scout for Makasound Records and had worked with some of the biggest names in the music industry, including Chris Brown.

However, Grissom’s career was not without controversy. In 2018, he was accused of harassment charges along with Chris Brown, where an unknown woman claimed that she was abused and molested at the singer’s Los Angeles house, and was forced to perform sexual acts. While the case was settled out of court, it did cast a shadow on Grissom’s reputation.

The shooting incident that claimed Grissom’s life took place at the Gala Miami nightclub, where he had been partying with two women. According to reports, the shooting occurred around 4 am, and Florida City police received a call regarding the open firing incident inside the nightclub. When the police arrived, they found three gunshot victims, including Grissom and the two women he had been with. Grissom was rushed to the Ryder Trauma Center at Jackson Memorial Hospital, but he succumbed to his injuries and died.

The news of Grissom’s death sent shockwaves throughout the hip-hop community, with many artists and fans expressing their condolences and paying tribute to the late rapper. Chris Brown, with whom Grissom had a close relationship, posted a heartfelt message on his Instagram account, saying “love you bro, Rest Up MY BROTHER.”

Grissom’s death is yet another addition to the long list of rappers who have lost their lives due to gun violence, such as Biggie and Tupac.
