Who was Robert Bush?

Robert Bush was 17 years old. He used to play football at Long Island High School.

Bush lost his life on Monday during summer workout drills at Newfield High School. His instructors administered CPR and used a defibrillator right after, but despite their best efforts, they were unable to save him because of an unidentified heart condition.

Bush was sent right away to Stony Brook Hospital, where he was given medication to induce a coma. Robert’s cousin Joshua Bush has expressed concern about the training program’s safety requirements. Joshua, who works as an athletic trainer, underlined the importance of having medical staff on hand to protect the students’ safety while participating in physical activities such as conditioning.
