A woman, Theresa Gregg, was found dead in her Brooklyn flat early on Saturday, and police are now looking into the case. Her death is being looked into as a possible homicide. There have not yet been any arrests.

Who was Theresa Gregg?

Theresa Gregg was a city Department of Homeless Services’ police officer. She was 37 years old at the time of her death. Public records show that Gregg had been employed by DHS since at least 2015 as a supervisory special officer.

Around 8:20 on Saturday morning, officers discovered her body in the bedroom of her Williamsburg apartment on Bedford Ave. close to S. 3rd St. Her body and neck had both been brutally stabbed.

The young twin children of the deceased woman, who are 12 years old, discovered the horrific scene and dialed 911. Police discovered Theresa Gregg, the victim, unconscious and lying on the floor of her residence when they arrived. According to authorities, she was declared dead on the scene.

According to a report in the New York Post, Gregg appears to have been murdered in some sort of domestic fight, according to police sources.

On Sunday, neighbors claimed Gregg had a boyfriend, and the two frequently quarreled. “I could hear them fighting, both of them yelling,” said one neighbor, who wished to remain anonymous. “They fight a lot. You can hear it pretty clear.”

“I was so shocked yesterday,” said Johanna Hidalgo, who lives downstairs. “Her daughters are so sweet – every morning, they good morning, they’re smiling. So beautiful, so respectful.”

The inquiry is still ongoing, and there are currently no suspects. It is not known if the cops are looking to speak to Gregg’s unidentified partner.
