Republican Marjorie Taylor Greene has launched a scathing attack on President Joe Biden, as she has announced impeachment articles against him. Greene while addressing a press conference on Thursday said, “It is with the highest amount of solemnity that I announce my intention to introduce articles of impeachment today on the head of this America-at-last Executive Branch that has been working since January 20th, 2021, to systematically destroy this country: the President of the United States, Joseph Robinette Biden”.
At a press conference capping off “impeachment week,” during which she moved to impeach Attorney General Merrick Garland, FBI Director Christopher Wray, and Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas, Greene declared her intention to introduce impeachment articles against Biden over the border crisis and said, “his administration has willfully refused to maintain operational control as is required by law”. She also made a strong statement where she said every official in the administration is corrupt and unfit to hold office.
She has alleged Joe Biden of compromising national security by denying to enforce immigration laws in the country. She slammed Biden and said he should be ousted from office for failing to secure the border. While addressing the press conference, Greene highlighted several instances of which she said abuse of authority and power, control of government agencies, and unprecedented raids on former President Donald Trump’s residence.
White House spokesperson Ian Sams has heavily criticized the act and called it a “shameless sideshow political stunt” and defended Biden saying “The president is focused on what’s important to the American people, like preventing House Republicans’ default that would crash the economy and protecting investments that are creating American manufacturing jobs, not silly political attacks”.
Greene has also filed impeachment articles against Attorney General Merrick Garland, and the articles cite several controversial scandals which happened under Garland’s tenure.
