Ariados is a crimson
Pokémon with a spider-like appearance. Purple eyes, a pair of white mandibles,
and a white horn on its forehead characterize this creature. Two black stripes
run around its belly, and its back has two black dots and a yellow spinneret.
The spots and spinneret combine to produce a face-like design. Ariados has the
ability to spin thread from both its spinneret and mouth.
It has four yellow
legs, each with two purple bands, and yellow structures on its back, each with
a single purple stripe. It has tiny hooks on the tips of its feet that allow it
to climb ceilings and vertical walls.
Ariados builds its
nest in the depths of temperate and tropical woods, then hunts for food after
dark. Ariados weaves a single thread from its back that goes back to its nest
while on the hunt for food. Prey is caught and wrapped in thread before being
assaulted by fangs.
Ariados then takes
his time drinking the victim’s body fluids. Occasionally, it will release prey
with only one thread attached. The thread is subsequently traced to the captured
prey as well as its companions. Toxic Thread is only known to be learned by
Ariados and its pre-evolution Spinarak. This was also true with Spider Web in
the past.
