In an Instagram post, renowned street artist Banksy presented his most recent creation, a mural in the freed Ukrainian town of Borodianka.

The image depicts a female gymnast balancing on a heap of debris on the side of a structure that has been hit by Russian airstrikes.

The artist used an alternate version of the town’s name to simply caption three pictures of the piece that were posted on social media on Friday.

Murals that surfaced in Borodianka, which is roughly 35 miles northwest of the capital, Kyiv, sparked speculation that Banksy was in the war-torn nation.

One piece of art, which the creator has not formally acknowledged, showed a man being flipped during a judo battle with a young boy.

Another showed a metal tank trap being used as a seesaw by two children.

At the beginning of the invasion of Ukraine in February, Borodianka was particularly badly hit by Russian airstrikes, with numerous buildings being reduced to ruins by long-range attacks.

13,000 people lived there before the war, but after Russia invaded, the majority left. After intensive shelling and deadly blows, Russian soldiers rushed in on February 28 and took control of what remained of Borodianka.

On April 1, the town returned to Ukrainian authority, and the returning residents discovered that their homes had been pillaged and their stores had had their windows broken and their contents were stolen.

On structures, vehicles, and checkpoints, the letter “V,” which is used by Russia’s Eastern Military Region together with the word “Z,” which stands for Moscow’s purported “special military operation,” was painted.

Since then, the town has been the focus of restoration efforts, with several tower blocks being destroyed as a result of the fighting’s damage.
