Cristiano Ronaldo, the ace Portuguese football star, revealed in an exclusive chat with Piers Morgan that the British Royal Family reached out to him after the heartbreaking loss of his newborn son earlier this year.

Talking to Morgan for an exclusive The Sun article, Ronaldo shared how back in April, him and partner Georgina Rodriguez lost their son during childbirth.

Ronaldo shared how he got support from unexpected places, including from rival clubs including Liverpool fans, who sang You’ll Never Walk Alone during the seventh minute during a game upon his return; Ronaldo popularly wears the No.7 jersey.

The couple lost their baby in April 

Morgan stated that while Ronaldo was grieving, he “received a personal note of condolence from the Royal Family.” The 37-year-old athlete and his 28-year-old partner Georgina Rodrguez announced the tragic death of their newborn son on April 18.

The announcement came nearly six months after the couple revealed they were expecting twins, a boy and a girl. Following the devastating news, Ronaldo’s football club, Manchester United, issued a statement on social media, telling the team’s forward, “Your suffering is our suffering. At this difficult time, I am sending you and your family my love and strength.”

Following the tragic news, friends and legendary football players also offered their support. Alana Martina, the couple’s three-year-old daughter, was born in 2016. The Manchester United player is also the father of twins Mateo and Eva Maria, who are four years old, and Cristiano Jr., who is 11 years old.
