Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp, during a conversation with the club’s official website, said that he is glad to be a part of Trent Alexander-Arnold’s 100 game journey as a part of the Anfield camp.

If featured against West Ham on Saturday, Alexander-Arnold will become a part of the elite 100 game club at Liverpool. The 22-year-old would become the fifth-youngest player to reach the landmark, following Michael Owen, Robbie Fowler, Jamie Redknapp and Steven Gerrard. While Klopp already hinted at the Englishman’s participation in the game, the official pat on the back will come against West Ham.

18-year-old Trent made his debut for Liverpool, his hometown club, in 2016 and has already seen the Champions League glory (2018-19) and a English Premier League triumph (2019-20) in the red jersey. He was a key player in both campaigns, scoring some of the dead ball strikes

Trent Alexander-Arnold has had a “great ride so far”, said the Liverpool manager on the eve of what is likely to be the defender’s 100th Premier League appearance for the club.

Alexander-Arnold, who has been capped 12 times by England, will reach the century of Premier League appearances in a home game. While with no spectators the celebration could be quite a little less extraordinary than he would’ve thought of, but Klopp made sure that the club’s gratitude is passed.

“It’s a great number. It’s been a great ride so far, an interesting journey. He came in with a super basis as a player and person, and used it to make big development steps. When you see pictures from his first game, the boy who came in compared to the man now, even though he’s a young man, the difference couldn’t be bigger,” said Klopp on Friday.

“Of course, when you look at his age there is a lot of space for improvement, just time-wise already, and he will use that. He will become even a better person – maybe that’s difficult, but more a personality and all these kind of things.

“It’s really nice to be a part of this journey, to be honest, because everybody dreams of something like that and then when you are part of it, that makes it pretty special,” the Anfield boss added.
