Lewis Hamilton, starting from pole, led every lap of the Belgian Grand Prix on Sunday as he cruised to his fourth victory in the last five races this season.

Hamilton’s Mercedes team-mate Valtteri Bottas was second, 8.448 seconds behind, and Max Verstappen of Red Bull was third. The top three were in the same order throughout the race.

The Renault pair, Daniel Ricciardo and Esteban Ocon were on the fourth and fifth spot.

“It wasn’t the easiest of races,” said Hamilton after his win. “I had a lock-up into turn five which gave me a vibration on the tyre. It was a bit of a struggle. I was nervous we might have a scenario like Silverstone where I had the puncture so I was nursing it to the end.”

The Grand Prix winner said, “It is all about how we can win the next race and it is an incredible environment to be in. I am 35 going towards 36 but I feel better than ever so that is a positive.”
