A video has surfaced on social media, in which a lioness is seen attacking a trainer during a live circus show in Russia’s Novosibirsk region.

In the short video clip, Maxim Orlov, the trainer, is seen along with the lioness Vega. As soon as the trainer starts the performance, the tigress attacks him. At first he manages to escape but the tigress attacks him again and pulls him down on the floor.

The trainer suffered some injury and is admitted to the hospital.

As per a Dailymail report, a woman in the audience fell ill and suffered stress due to the attack at a live circus.

Orlov said, “Vega is five years old and has been wayward since childhood. Cases such as today are very rare but animals are animals. We will negotiate with the zoo to exchange her for a little lion cub”, reported daily mail.
