Former adult film actress turned influencer, Mia Khalifa, has stirred controversy by expressing solidarity with the people of Palestine in the wake of the recent Hamas attacks that have escalated tensions with Israel. Khalifa’s remarks on social media, made as Israel declared a state of war following the Hamas assault, were decidedly critical of Israel and in favor of Palestine.

She tweeted, “Can someone please tell the freedom fighters in Palestine to flip their phones and film horizontal,” emphasizing the importance of documenting the events. Khalifa further stated, “I just wanna make sure there’s 4k footage of my people breaking down the walls of the open air prison they’ve been forced out of their homes and into so we have good options for the history books.”
Being of Lebanese descent, Mia Khalifa faced significant backlash for her anti-Israel comments. However, she stood her ground, expressing regret for not verifying potential business partners for their affiliations. She wrote, “I’d say supporting Palestine has lost me business opportunities, but I’m more angry at myself for not checking whether or not I was entering into business with Zionists.”

Additionally, Khalifa asserted that individuals failing to stand with Palestinians are aligning themselves with the wrong side of history and apartheid, asserting that future generations will recognize this. Nevertheless, her stance has sparked further heated debate online.
The Hamas attack on Israel occurred on a Saturday, resulting in a reported death toll of approximately 700 victims by Monday. This devastating event prompted Israel to retaliate, leading to airstrikes in Gaza. Tragically, one such attack targeted a crowded music festival near the Gaza Strip, resulting in hostages taken by armed gunmen. The situation remains highly volatile and continues to unfold.
