Mike Lindell, the CEO of MyPillow and a supporter of former US President Donald Trump, was suspended from Twitter on Sunday for the second time. He rejoined the social media platform earlier in the day after creating a new account.

“Hello everybody, I’M BACK ON TWITTER. My only account is @MikeJLindell! Please RT and FOLLOW to SPREAD THE WORD”, Lindell wrote in a social media post, announcing his comeback.

Lindell’s original Twitter account was permanently suspended last year after he allegedly used unverified sources and conspiracy theories to support his claims of election fraud in the United States. MyPillow’s Twitter account met a similar fate after Lindell started pushing his personal agenda.

Lindell was re-banned from Twitter on Sunday after several users reported his new profile and said he was attempting to evade the censoring policy. Twitter’s policy prohibits suspended users from returning “through the creation of new accounts”, Huffington Post reported.

Lindell said that it was a “shame” Twitter took such a step. In a statement unrelated to the recent ban, he added, “We need to melt down the voting machines and turn them into prison bars”, The Daily Beast reported.

The MyPillow CEO had a following of more than 35,000 just hours after he joined the microblogging platform, New York Post reported.

Lindell’s attempt to re-join Twitter came nearly a week after Tesla and SpaceX CEO Elon Musk’s offer to take over the social media platform was accepted. Musk previously described himself as a “free speech absolutist.”

Roger Stone, an American political consultant and a long-time ally of Donald Trump, also attempted to rejoin Twitter last week. His account was taken down hours after he signed up.

Former President Trump said that he will not be joining Twitter even if the platform revises its policies. The Republican said he will stick to his own social media platform called TRUTHSocial.
