In a shocking incident, a 60-year-old man committed suicide at a
quarantine centre of Pune Municipical Corporation in Kondhwa on Monday,
reported Pune Police. As per the reports, the man and his son had tested
positive for COVID-19.

The cause of suicide is yet to be ascertained. Police have begun their
investigation on the case.  

Maharashtra is the worst hit state in the country with over 2,11987
coronavirus cases, followed by Tamil Nadu and the national capital Delhi.

Maharashtra on Monday recorded 5,368 fresh coronavirus cases.
According to the state health department bulletin, 204 coronavirus patients succumbed in the last 24 hours,
taking the death toll to 9,206.

Mumbai reported 1,201 new COVID-19 cases and taking the case count to
85,326. The number of COVID-19 deaths in the financial capital of the country
spiked by 39. 4,935 patients have lost their lives due to the viral
infection. According to the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC),
57,152 people have recovered so far and the city now has 23,249 active cases.
