Shah
Rukh Khan
, who hasn’t been seen on the big screen since 2018, is ready to make
a comeback with the much-anticipated film ‘Pathaan‘. For quite some time, there
have been rumours concerning his other planned ventures. Now, SRK has
officially acknowledged his working relationship with Rajkumar Hirani.

Shah
Rukh Khan’s announcement trailer for his upcoming film with the maker of ‘3 Idiots’ drove fans into a frenzy on Tuesday. He captioned the video with an equally
amusing comment, “Dear@RajkumarHirani sir, Aap toh Mere Santa Claus nikle. Aap
shuru karo main time pe pahunch jaunga. actually main toh set par hi rehne
lagunga. Feeling humbled & excited to finally work with you. Bringing to you
all #Dunki in cinemas on 22nd December 2023.”

The
actor-director team can be seen joking around about Dunki in the video. The
interview begins with SRK discussing Aamir Khan‘s PK and Ranbir Kapoor‘s Sanju.
Rajkumar is then asked whether he has any iconic characters for him. When the
director says yes, an ecstatic SRK grills him on the film’s specifics. However,
it is the film’s title that has him scratching his head.

The
film, starring Taapsee Pannu and SRK, began shooting in April. The following
episode will be filmed in Punjab. Rajkumar and Shah Rukh Khan’s wife Gauri are
financing Dunki.

“Raj
Kumar Hirani is one of the finest directors of this generation,” Shah Rukh
remarked of his debut collaboration with the Munna Bhai MBBS director. “We
have always spoken about working together, and I am extremely happy we are
finally doing it with Dunki.  We have just started shooting
this month, and I am cherishing every moment of it. Raju ke liye
main Donkey, Monkey…kuch bhi ban sakta hoon!”

Meanwhile,
Rajkumar Hirani added, “Through the course of my career Shah Rukh Khan has
always been on my wish list and after trying to collaborate several times in
the past, we were finally destined to have ‘Dunki’ mark our partnership. The
energy, charisma, humour and charm that he brings to a film is unparalleled and
I look forward to bringing that magic to the big screen.”
