One unexpected guest that attended Queen Elizabeth II’s funeral was a spider. On Sept. 19, the creature was seen crawling on a card affixed to a floral wreath on the late monarch’s casket as it entered Westminster Abbey.
It turned out to be a lighter moment during the otherwise sombre occasion as hundreds of social media users started posting pictures and videos of the spider.

“The wreath contains flowers and foliage cut from the gardens of Buckingham Palace, Clarence House, and Highgrove House at His Majesty The King’s request,” Buckingham Palace said in a statement. “This includes symbolically significant foliage.”
