US President Joe Biden made another gaffe, on Wednesday, while visiting Israel when the 79-year-old mistakenly said they must keep the “honour of the Holocaust” alive.

The Democrat is on a two-day visit with the heads of the Middle Eastern countries.

Biden said, “Later today I will return to the hallowed ground of … Yad Vashem to honour the 6 million Jewish lives that were stolen in a genocide and continue – which must we must do every, every day – continue to bear witness, to keep alive the truth and honour of the Holocaust — horror of the Holocaust, honour those we lost so that we never, ever forget that lesson, you know and to continue our shared, unending work to fight the poison of anti-Semitism wherever it raises its ugly head”.

This is the president’s first visit to the Middle East since the start of his tenure. Biden’s visit is meant to put Israelis at peace and assure them of support from the US, in its determination to stop Iran’s expanding nuclear program. The president however said that he’d use force as a “last resort”.

The president’s most recent error has sparked memes on Twitter, with one user remarking how Biden asked what he was supposed to do, after exiting Air Force One in Israel.

Another Twitter user shared a clip of the mistake.

They added, “Is there a gas leak at the White House? Are they sundowning together? Anyway, I know we all make verbal mistakes but the truth and honour of the Holocaust is uh, something else.”

Yet another Twitter user recounted this portion of Biden’s interview and asked others, “Think your day is going poorly?”

One user reacted to the clip, saying “Please, ‘Biden Handlers,’ do not let him speak in public anymore”.
