US President Joe Biden said “we will hunt you down and make you pay” to those who try to hurt America and its people, pointing fingers at ISIS. The warning came on Thursday during the presidential address from the White House following a deadly bombing at the Kabul airport.

While recognising that the ISIS had claimed responsibility for the attack in Kabul, Biden said that the “ISIS terrorists will not win”. He added, “We will respond with force and precision at our time, at the place we choose and the moment of our choosing”.

Biden says he has ordered his commanders “to develop operational plans to strike ISIS-K assets, leadership and facilities”, according to reports from ABC News.

While speaking about the United States troop withdrawal from war-torn Afghanistan, Biden said, “We will complete our mission and we will continue after our troops have withdrawn to find means by which we can find any American who wishes to get out of Afghanistan. We will find them, and we will get them out.”

According to reports from AFP, Biden said in the White House address that there were no signs of collusion between the Taliban and the ISIS”.

Biden’s address came after multiple media reports, citing United States officials, stated that at least 12 members of the country’s armed forces were killed in the twin bomb blast outside Kabul’s Hamid Karzai International Airport.

United States officials, on Thursday, suspected the involvement of the Islamic State in the deadly attack and said will “go after” the perpetrators of the Kabul airport attacks if they can be found. Hours later, multiple media reports suggested that the Islamic State had claimed responsibility for the attacks.

General Frank McKenzie of the United States armed forces, who is overseeing the country’s evacuation efforts from Afghanistan, said that the Taliban has been directed to increase security around the airport as the US suspected expects such attacks to continue.
