The International Nurses Day celebrated on May 12, is observed to spread awareness about the work of nurses around the world. We as a society would not have survived the raging pandemic had it not been for the dedication and hard work of the healthcare workers. The tradition of appreciating the work of nurses in the medical field started in the 1950s.

The International Nurses Day is annually organised by the International Council of Nurses. The date May 12 is very significant as it is the birthday of the world%u2019s most famous nurse, Florence Nightingale.
