Harsimarbir Singh, co-founder of Pristyn Care, posted on LinkedIn about “interesting interview hacks” his company used to find “Special Driven people with the right attitude,” which netizens found troubling.

He made seven points in his post, ranging from calling candidates at 8 am to locate early risers to setting up phone interviews at 11 pm to find late employees. He also talked about testing the candidates’ patience and culture by having them spend 6 to 8 hours in the office. He added that he has interviews set up for Sunday to gauge their level of commitment. Finally, he detailed how he requested remote candidates to appear the following day for an interview.

“Don’t apply to work for such organisations if you have even the slightest bit of self-respect”, advised the The Educated Moron Twitter account in response to a screenshot of the LinkedIn article. Since it was published on Thursday, the tweet has earned more than 10,000 likes.

In a now-deleted post, Pristyn Care co-founder Harsimarbir Singh advocated making job applicants wait 6 to 8 hours in the office (to test their patience), scheduling interviews on Sundays for late at night or early in the morning, and even asking candidates from other parts of the country to come in the following day.  Health-tech business called Pristyn Care was established in Gurugram in 2018.

Singh claims that these techniques enable him to spot early risers and late employees as well as assess their aptitude for hard work, hustle, culture, patience, and devotion as well as their comfort level with extended workdays.

The issue over Harsimarbir Singh’s recommendations follows one involving Bombay Shaving Company CEO Shantanu Deshpande, who received criticism for recommending to freshmen to put in 18 hours per week of work during their first few years of employment.
