Who is Maayan Zin?

Maayan Zin is 52 years old. She has been watching a video of her eight-year-old daughter Ela, who is kneeling, constantly since the terrorist group attacked on October 7. She also frequently views a picture of her 15-year-old daughter Dafna that was posted online and depicts her inside Gaza.

Ella and Dafna Elyakim, sisters, were involved in an incident that happened on October 7. Terrorists from Hamas kidnapped them from their father’s home in Kibbutz Nir Oz. Their father, Noam Elyakim, his companion, Dikla Arava, and Dikla’s son, Tomer, were also present.

The family was forced to identify themselves while sitting in the living room as the terrorists recorded the attack on Facebook Live. After being shot in the leg, Noam Elyakim was shown profusely bleeding on the live video, while Dafna sobbed by his side.

After stealing the identity cards from the household, the attackers made Noam and Tomer go outside at gunpoint and gave Tomer orders to persuade the neighbors to vacate their protected areas. In the end, all five were kidnapped and transported to Gaza. Sadly, Noam, Dikla, and Tomer’s bodies were subsequently found close to the border.

Zin later watched another video in which her daughters were seen sitting on mattresses wearing pajamas that did not belong to them. Ella’s one hand has two wrapped fingers. Maayan worries that her girls might have seen their father, his companion, and her son killed. In addition, she questions Ella’s hand’s whereabouts and who altered their attire.
