Quereshi expresses a goal in the message to “keep the world clean.” However, the poster clearly has Anti-Semitic connotations attached to it.

Due to continued demonstrations relating to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, the situation in London remains volatile. While some protesters highlight their pleas for peace and a stop to Israeli actions, episodes of antisemitism have strained the environment, producing dread and concern among the Jewish population.

The Jewish community, in particular, has expressed serious concern. According to Justin Cohen, the news editor and co-publisher of Jewish News, the community is today filled with dread and despair, which he connects to the pain produced by recent Hamas actions. More than 70% of British Jews have family in Israel, and the rise in antisemitic attacks reported by the Met Police has heightened their concerns.

While some believe that recent protests in the United Kingdom calling for an end to Israeli actions are primarily focused on the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, others, including Benjamin Bell, express concern about the magnitude and tone of these events. According to Bell, social media content contributes to the spread of hatred and making people feel unsafe, particularly at work.

Mehak Quereshi’s poster has contributed to continuing discussions regarding the Israeli-Palestinian conflict and its effects on various groups. While some supporters believe the poster symbolizes a wish for peace, others are concerned that it may have negative repercussions.
