After two police officers in Newark, New Jersey, were shot while executing a search warrant, a shooter is still at large.
According to authorities, the officers are in stable condition at the hospital.
According to the reports, police are still looking for the shooter, who appeared to have fired from a high position, probably a window.

“I am aware of and closely monitoring an unfolding situation in Newark. I am in touch with local authorities and the State is providing resources as requested. We will continue to support local law enforcement and ensure that all residents are safe,” New Jersey Gov. Phil Murphy tweeted.
Who is Phil Murphy?
Since January 2018, Philip Dunton Murphy, an American financier, politician, and diplomat, has held the office of 56th governor of New Jersey. He was born on August 16, 1957. He took over as governor in Chris Christie’s place as a Republican. He was a Democrat who represented the US in Germany from 2009 to 2013 while President Barack Obama was in office.

Before retiring in 2006, Murphy had a 23-year career at Goldman Sachs, where he held various high-level positions and earned significant wealth. He takes part in a lot of charitable endeavours and civic groups. In the middle the to late 2000s, under the Howard Dean administration, he was the DNC’s finance chairman.
From 2009 through 2013, Murphy handled the international repercussions of the leak of American diplomatic cables while serving as the US ambassador to Germany in the Obama administration.
Murphy and his wife Tammy Murphy founded New Start New Jersey, a progressive organisation active from November 2014 to December 2017 with the goal of raising his political profile in the state, as he planned to run for governor.

In the 2017 race for governor, he defeated Kim Guadagno, who was then the lieutenant governor. Murphy was appointed the Democratic Governors Association’s chairperson in December 2019 and served in that capacity for one year.
Murphy won reelection in 2021 with 51% of the vote, defeating Republican challenger Jack Ciattarelli, becoming the first Democrat to serve as gvernor of New Jersey for a second term since 1977. He was elected as the first New Jerseyan to chair the National Governors Association in July 2022.
When they both worked at Goldman Sachs in 1987, Murphy first met Tammy Snyder and they got married in 1994. The couple has four children, three sons, and a daughter, and currently live in Monmouth County, New Jersey.
