Canada’s Summer McIntosh won the women’s 400m medley world title with the timing of 4 minutes 32.04 seconds in the FINA 2022 World Aquatics Championships in Budapest, Hungary, on Saturday.
McIntosh set a new junior world record with the victory. The second and third positions were bagged by USA’s Katie Grimes and Emma Weyant respectively.
Summer McIntosh is a 15-year-old Canadian competitive swimmer and the daughter of Olympic team swimmer Jill Horstead. She was born on August 18, 2006, in Ontario. Her elder sibling, Brooke McIntosh, is a pair skater.
McIntosh rose to prominence at the age of 14, when she was the youngest player on the Canadian team at the 2020 Summer Olympics. She came fourth in the swimming event.

“I think I’m a little bit in shock right now,” she said after the race, according to CBC.
