Two volunteers engaged in the aid efforts to war-ravaged Ukraine were killed while they were attempting a ‘humanitarian evacuation’, according to Metro UK. The report states that the duo was in the Eastern region town of Soledar in Ukraine when they were killed.

Who were Chris Parry and Andrew Bagshaw?
Chris Parry was a resident of Cornwall, United Kingdom. He was a software engineer and spent most of his time working away from his home. He was married to Olga Parry, as per the Metro report. Among his hobbies were rock climbing, cycling, running and skydiving and he wanted to travel the world. He had traveled to Soledar, a town in Eastern Ukraine when the Russian invasion started back in March 2022.
Andrew Bagshaw, on the other hand, was a citizen of New Zealand who had also traveled to Ukraine with Parry to provide humanitarian aid to people affected by the ongoing war.

According to Parry’s family, Parry felt strongly about the war in Ukraine. In a statement they released after his death, they said that since he went there in March, he has helped save at least 400 lives and several animals from the fangs of the war.
“It is with great sadness we have to announce that our beloved Chrissy has been killed along with his colleague Andrew Bagshaw whilst attempting a humanitarian evacuation from Soledar, eastern Ukraine,” the statement from Parry’s family said.
‘His selfless determination in helping the old, young and disadvantaged there has made us and his larger family extremely proud,” they continued.

‘We never imagined we would be saying goodbye to Chris when he had such a full life ahead of him. He was a caring son, fantastic brother, a best friend to so many and a loving partner to Olga. ‘Chris was a confident, outward looking and adventurous young man who was loyal to everyone he knew.”
