The grand Deepotsav celebrations are underway in Ayodhya, Uttar Pradesh. This year, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath led the Uttar Pradesh government will light 12 lakh earthen lamps out of which nine lakh have been lit on the banks of the Sarayu river, surpassing the previous year’s record. This is the fifth grand Deepotsav in Ayodhya before the 2022 assembly elections.

The celebration will present a special show of 500 drones displayed Ramayan scenes in the sky. With today’s celebration, the government made a world record and entered into the Guinness book of the world record by lighting 7.51 lakh earthen lamps but the administration lit nine lakh lamps to ensure any mishap.
Last year more than six lakh earthen lamps were lit for the “Deepotsav,” which was also a world record.

A cultural group from Sri Lanka has been invited to stage the Ram Lila and many other cultural and literary activities that will be held from November 1 to 5.
The administration has made high-level security arrangements in the city with a seven-tiered system. Police, special operation group, and special security force have been employed to secure Ayodhya. To check security and provide intelligence inputs, several cops in civil clothes have been deployed.

The borders of Ayodhya are sealed and vehicles entry is banned, except VIP and official vehicles, which are required to be parked at least one kilometer away from the Ram Katha Park.
Earlier in the day, CM Yogi Adityanath addressed the gathering in Ayodhya and wished Deepawali to the people. Yogi said that 31 years ago, bullets were fired at Rambhakts and Karsewaks in Ayodhya. He said, “Chanting Jai Shri Ram and voicing support for Ram Temple were considered a crime. But it is the power of the people and democracy that those who ordered firing on Rambhakts today bow to your power.”
