Micah Shrewsberry is set to leave Penn State for Notre Dame, as per multiple reports. The coach will replace a retiring Mike Brey, who led the Fighting Irish since 2000.
Shrewsberry, who is an Indiana-native, leaves Pennsylvania after a combined 14 seasons as head coach and assistant coach. While details of the 46-year-old’s contract with Penn State are not official, abc27.com reports that the financial records for the basketball staff were around $3 million during the 2021-22 fiscal year.
“Details on how much Penn State is paying Shrewberry alone are not publicly available, but on the athletic department’s financial records, the basketball staff as a whole made $3.3 million during the 2021-22 fiscal year.”
Shrewsberry took over the Nittany Lions in 2021. He had a 14-17 record.

As per reports, the coach proposed to Molly when he was jobless. The two lived with the latter’s parents.
