Will Levis slipped through the picks in the 2023 NFL Draft at Kansas City on Thursday. Reports now suggest that teams are concerned about the Kentucky Wildcats quarterback’s toe injury.

Levis was considered as one of the top quarterbacks coming into the draft. However, not only franchises ignored the 23-year-old in the initial phase of day 1, he was not selected through the first 20 picks.

Bryce Young and C.J. Stroud were picked by the Carolina Panthers and Houston Texans as No 1 and 2. Anthony Richardson went fourth.

A report from Chris Mortensen of ESPN said that one team, out of the 32, was concerned about Levis’ left toe injury and another one thought he needed surgery.

“Will Levis’ left toe that caused him to miss two games last year was “problematic “ for one team that considered him.
Levis says the “toe has healed” and good to go.
Another team believes Levis could manage it but thought surgery would need discussion after season. Levis…” the ESPN reporter tweeted.

“Unlikely to be a significant reason why Will Levis has fallen in the draft.
Even if he did need surgery, he’s well past a draft slot where teams view him as a true franchise QB and would be fine sitting him after turf toe surgery. These carry low long term concern, esp for QB,” another Twitter user added.

Coming into the draft, Will Levis’ odds shot up after a Reddit post picking him as No 1 went viral on social media. However, it did not result in his selection on Thursday.

Levis was compared to Aaron Rodgers and Lamar Jackson, who were picked No 32 and No 24 during their time.
