Fans at the Anita Baker concert were unhappy after a two-hour delay and Babyface’s absence at the Prudential Center, Newark in New Jersey.
Many complained, on social media, that Baker came in late for the event and they were asked to wait as the organizers cited ‘technical problems’.
“I bought my mother $200 Anita Baker tixs for mother’s day @PruCenter and Anita didn’t come out till 9:20 for 7pm concert and performed the last song at 10:40. #livenation needs to give people a refund. That’s bullshit and no opening act either. Just hours of watching empty stage,” a Twitter user said.
“I am at the Anita Baker concert, it is 2 hours late! This is unacceptable! Ppl have to work tomorrow,others don’t live in NJ and traveled here. No announcements have been made. Tickets were expensive. Disrespectful! Who is responsible for this? Shameful. #refund,” another one added.
“Babyface fans at the Anita Baker concert like “When can I see him again? When can my heart beat again? I hear what you’re saying but I swear it’s not making sense” a third one tweeted.
The tickets for the concert started as low as $58.
Babyface ahead of the concert announced that he will not be performing alongside Baker.
“I am truly sorry to my fans who have been waiting for us to hit the stage this evening at
@PruCenter. I was asked not to perform in order to give Ms. Baker her space and time to perform her show in its entirety. My band and I are extremely saddened we didn’t get to perform for y’all tonight 💔” Kenneth Brian Edmonds, better known by his stage name Babyface, tweeted.
