Nika Nikoubin who stabbed a partner during sex in a Vegas hotel room to avenge a US drone attack that killed a prominent Iranian general has escaped jail, basing her violent behaviour on a past experience of rape.

Who is Nika Nikoubin?

Nika Nikoubin, 22, appeared in the Eighth Judicial District Court in Clark County, Nevada, on Wednesday, telling the judge that she is ‘conscious of the seriousness of my conduct and the implications they bring.’

Despite her crime, in which she knifed her victim in the neck, she was released after being sentenced to no more than 36 months probation.

During her court appearance on May 10, Nikoubin pleaded guilty to two counts of False Imprisonment with Use of a Deadly Weapon.

In a nearly four-page testimony at her sentence on Wednesday, she appealed for probation, stating that she had been ‘traumatised’ after reportedly being raped in college.

‘I was raped by another student when I was 18 years old. At the time, I did not completely understand the impact that this experience had on me, and my mental health deteriorated,’ she said in a prepared statement to the court.

The 22-year-old said she was diagnosed with a number of disorders including ‘severe depression, schizophrenia, and bipolar disorder.

Nikoubin, 22, blindfolded her Plenty of Fish date in March 2022, reached into her handbag while his eyes were covered, drew out a knife, and stabbed him twice in the neck as part of a twisted revenge scheme to’spill American blood.’

She claims she did so in retribution for former President Donald Trump’s order to assassinate top Iranian general Qasem Soleimani by drone strike outside Baghdad Airport in January 2020.

Nikoubin, a University of Texas at Dallas student, was apprehended by Henderson police shortly after the stabbing at the Sunset Station hotel.
